Founded in 1993, the company started out in a disused classroom in Delsbo. We always felt that it was important to stay true to our roots. You don’t need to be in a big city to succeed, and we’re an example of that. Senseair became a leading global provider of air and gas sensing technology working from this small community. Since then, we have expanded our business and today, our offices are found in big cities around the world. But no matter how big we become, we aim to keep the open and friendly atmosphere we started with.
In 2017, Senseair merged with Hök Instruments, a company based in Västerås that specialised in sensor technology, micromechanics, microsystem technology, and measurement technology and who developed and manufactured alcohol sensors. Together, we are developing and selling the alcohol sensors of the future. In close cooperation with Autoliv and the American car industry, we have been working to develop a nozzle-free alcohol sensor that can be integrated into cars.
As of 2018, Senseair is 100% owned by Asahi Kasei, a global Japanese company based in Tokyo. The Asahi Kasei Group is a diversified group of companies led by the holding company Asahi Kasei Corp., with operations in the material, homes, and health care business sectors.
